Volunteer

Through direct contact and personal involvement with our community members, veterans and their families are made to feel welcomed and appreciated for their service to our country. Each veteran will be sponsored by a family of “certified” volunteers who are committed to providing a network of support to veterans and their families.

There are many ways you can volunteer to help. From serving at CVC events to moving veterans and their families into new homes, volunteers are always needed and appreciated. Together we can continue to ensure that the men and women who so valiantly defended the freedoms that we enjoy will be provided the 360 degrees of support they need to achieve the civilian lifestyle they deserve.

Volunteers Needed:

Please see the current list of volunteer needs within our organization and the Restoring Hope Thrift Store benefiting CVC below. If you are interested in making a difference through any of these positions or would like more information, please fill out the Volunteer Application at the bottom of the page. Thank you in advance for your consideration in serving our combat veterans and their families.

Front Desk Assistant
We are in need of multiple volunteers to serve in greeting our guests, answering phone calls, and responding to questions regarding our program or volunteer opportunities. At the end of the day, our Front Desk Assistants are responsible for closing the office and tidying up when needed. There may be times when this position is the only person in the office, so he/she must be dependable. There are two shift options available: 9 AM–12 PM or 12–3 PM. However, we are always open to having extra volunteers on call to fill-in for this position when needed.
Office Assistant
The Office Assistant contributes largely to the efficiency of our program. This position is detail-oriented, and responsible for maintaining current registration forms, logging veteran information into our database, managing promotional materials, and delivering thank-you letters in a timely manner.
Program Assistant
The Program Assistant volunteer will work alongside our Office Manager during event planning. This position would assist in developing communications and planning and executing events. Responsibilities include researching, writing, organizing, arranging facilities and catering, and promoting events to the public. Must have solid written and verbal communication skills, be easily adaptable to changing circumstances, and possess energy and enthusiasm.
Donor Records Specialist
This position is needed to develop and maintain a list of CVC’s business, group, and individual donor records. Other responsibilities include data entry of all donations received throughout the year, and delivering gift receipts and personalized acknowledgement letters for tax-related purposes.
Inventory Clerk
One unique way we’re able to raise funds for our program is through the sales of high-quality promotional apparel and products. Our Inventory Clerk would be responsible for maintaining in-stock items (shirts, jackets, hats, cups, etc.) on a monthly basis, and placing new orders as-needed with the help of our CEO, David Booth.
Website Volunteer
We place heavy importance on continually updating our website to keep the public informed of upcoming events, program needs and ways to get involved. This position would be responsible for communicating with our web team as updates are needed, and can be executed from home as long as the website is visited daily for quality assurance.
Disaster Response Volunteer
Hurricanes and other natural disasters throughout the state of Florida can be absolutely devastating to our combat veterans and their families who are in the process of transitioning to civilian life. Our team provides much-needed assistance and relief efforts before, during and after these occurrences. The Disaster Response Volunteer would be responsible for planning for future emergencies and combining specialized response teams for our program veterans, alongside our staff and board members.
Capital Campaign Volunteer
CVC hosts annual events, such as the Battle Buddy Golf Tournament, Save a Veteran Reverse Raffle, and Tax Relief Reverse Raffle, to provide funds and awareness to our program. This position would obtain volunteers for our signature events, and maintain a detailed list of past and present volunteers for our records.
Thrift Store Volunteer
The Restoring Hope Thrift Store provides revenue to help fund our organization, so its volunteers directly benefit CVC. We are always looking for volunteers in this area to help greet customers, sort and price donations, stock shelves, operate the cash register, schedule pick-ups and deliveries, and provide customer service. Store hours are Monday-Friday from 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM and Saturday from 10 AM – 2 PM.
