Combat Veterans to Careers (CVC), a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) Foundation, based in The Villages® Community, was honored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce ‘Hire Our Heroes’ Program. Our friend, David Booth, CVC President & CEO, recently accepted the award in a ceremony in Tampa.

CVC provides 360˚ of support to a growing number of post 9/11 veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to their families. The organization provides assistance with housing, education, careers, wellness and requires recipients to become involved in philanthropic work in the community. They also do quarterly career workshops with skills such as resume writing.

David does not take a salary for his efforts, and the organization has one paid employee, which means 92% of funds raised goes toward helping veterans. Tom Ruggie is proud to serve as a member of the CVC Board of Directors.
