One of our main focuses here at Combat Veterans to Careers is helping our veterans find lasting and fulfilling careers when they transition out of the military. We know that landing a good job is hard enough as it is, but when you’ve spent the past few years outside of the workforce, excelling in skills that aren’t so easy to translate to the civilian world, finding a truly rewarding career can be much more difficult.
For some, taking advantage of LinkedIn’s Veterans Program can be an added boost. If you’ve served in the U.S. military, you may be eligible to receive a free 1-year LinkedIn Premium Career subscription, including access to LinkedIn’s Learning Platform.
“We want to make sure that veterans feel like the greatest thing they’ll ever do is the next step, or the next step after that … We believe in veterans, not just for everything they’ve done in the past, but for all they have yet to do,” says Daniel Savage, Head of LinkedIn’s Veterans Program.
With LinkedIn’s Premium Career subscription (formerly known as a “Premium Job Seeker” account), you’ll gain greater opportunity to get noticed by employers and connect with hiring managers, along with access to Premium insights on how you compare to other applicants and how you can improve your personal profile.
Other advantages of LinkedIn’s Premium Career subscription for veterans include the ability to:
- Be presented as a “Featured Applicant” when applying for jobs through the network
- View a full list of who’s looked at your profile in the last 90 days (which allows you to reach out to or follow up with employers who may be interested in learning more about you)
- View keywords people have used to find your profile, and use those to make adjustments to be found more often
- Receive 3 InMail credits per month, allowing you to directly contact anyone on LinkedIn, regardless of whether you’re connected or not.
