Ken graduated from Florida State University in 1966 with a Business degree focusing on Hotel and Restaurant Management. After graduation, he served 17 years in private club administration, managing country clubs in Virginia, Tennessee and Florida.

In 1983, he joined the Golden Bear organization as the Vice President of Operations for the Jack Nicklaus Club Management Company. Here, he gained exposure to a variety of country, city and yacht club operations as the “Nicklaus, Golden Bear” brand of development and management.

Later on, he formed his own club management and consulting companies based in Tallahassee, FL, providing a variety of club services from Key West, FL to Travis City, MI. This included the Seminole Golf Course and Club for Florida State University. It was during this time he served as an adjunct professor in the Hospitality department at FSU, and, in cooperation with the Professional Golfers Association of America, founded the Professional Golf Management Program at the University.

In the fall of 1998, Ken accepted a position as the Director of Golf and Country Club Operations for The Villages. Then in 2005, he formed Golf Management Solutions, LLC, providing the management and operation of all of The Villages’ golf, tennis, and country club operations.
